Who is Eric Munchel? Why is he arrested?
Eric Munchel is an American who was pictured in Capitol riots in restricted authority. his full real name is Eric Gavelek Munchel. As of 2023, He is 30 years old man and he is charged with an allegation of knowingly entering into the restricted building without lawful authority. He allegedly entered and was seen inside Senator Chamber with another man carrying plastic restraints and wearing tactical gears.

1. Eric is a former employee of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk on Lower Broadway. Steve Smith is the owner of Kid Rock’s Lower Broadway, has confirmed to the Tennessean that Munchel used to work there but he was fired 2 months ago.
2. Eric Munchel inside the senator chamber was wearing camouflage and tactical gear, carrying a cellphone that was strapped to his t-shirt. After investigation, a Facebook page that resembled his Facebook account was deleted after people started to tag and comment on his profile to the investigators.
3. As per records from the Davidson Country Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, he has been arrested on the behalf of federal authorities. He was recognized from his social media account Facebook. All the criminal records were checked from the Tennessee department about him and there were no criminal records or offensive acts were found against him.
4. Munchel was expected to appear before a federal judge for a hearing on January 11, Monday. His allegations have not been proved yet. This case is being prosecuted by the counterterrorism Section of the DOJ’s National Security Division and the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
5. The Capitol Riot was due to the supporters of Donald Trump in Washington D.C. They were incited and indirectly pushed for the storming of the Capitol. The insurrection was supported by the Republicans. A lady was shot dead as she with a crowd was forcing towards the House chambers.
